Functional printing expands

As new material classes and substrates enter production, inkjet and screen printing are tasked with demanding functional applications, where rheology, adhesion, drop or paste behaviour and process control make the difference between a concept and a working device. Our new hands-on training series helps you close that gap. What makes an ink jettable or printable? How do you pre-screen materials, match them to a substrate, and select the right printhead or mesh, squeegee and ink system? What goes wrong during jetting, wetting, curing or drying – and how do you troubleshoot it? Bring your own real-world questions: typical material issues, adhesion failures, process-window limits or scale-up doubts are exactly what we build the lab sessions around.

Theory and lab practice

Across two days, we cover rheology and material compatibility, printhead technology and process windows (inkjet) or mesh, frame, squeegee and machine preparation (screen), substrate pre-treatment and wetting, print and curing strategies, dropwatching and printing trials, and finally a transfer discussion to your own use cases – including waste handling and sustainability. Inkjet and screen printing are offered as separate courses, each tailored to its technology, equipment and typical applications, so you can choose the track that matches your work.

Who should attend?

R&D engineers, process and application engineers, ink and material formulators, substrate and equipment specialists, and technical managers moving into functional printing. If you're developing or scaling a functional printed product, this series will give you the practical foundations to move forward with confidence.
