Membrane Switch & Advanced Functional Printing

The event was a very successful event with a high end programme. The overall appreciation has been well accepted for its contents and level of presentations. Those who missed the opportunity to join for the presentations can buy the presentation with audio files via contacting ESMA.

General Assembly During the last GA in Seville, Arthur Vanhoutte General Manager of Mutoh Belgium became our new chairman. Jon Bultemeyer was elected as new Vice-President and Manuel Zuckerman replaces Jon and is now our treasurer of the association.

It was presented during the meeting that the Board and Steering Committee are still driving the original objectives of the association:

• Objective 1: Promoting our processes
  Newsletter, surveys, events & website
• Objective 2: Standardisation; the goal is to find a way to benchmark quality
  Quality Assurance Project (Digital Committee), IPS, ESMA Endorsed Supplier
• Objective 3: Training & Technical Seminars
  2011: MTS & AFP, GlassPrint, Innovative Workshop
  2012:  Sportswear & Fashion T-shirt printing, Specialist Printing Live!, Innovative Workshops
• Objective 4: Worldwide exchange of information
  CLIP, Currently loose contacts with other associations
• Objective 5: Health & Safety Management
  HSEP Committee, ESMA Endorsed Supplier
• Objective 6: Exhibition Support
  Pavilions, stand price negotiation

Important is an active participation of our members in these objectives such as Committees, projects, events and conferences. Recently, the committees began to increase the level of attraction for the meetings with guest speakers and presentations. Our new Chairman, encouraged the members to take benefits of an active participation in development of the ESMA Endorsed Supplier.  

 The GA presented the current structure of all the online projects of committees and workgroups, which were built in the past year by the ESMA web developer (Luc vande Reyde). It shows the new approach of the association that online projects will  increasingly become the trend for the future.

One of the new items in development: ENN, ESMA News Network, a central point for all information on Screen and Digital printing and all related applications.

Other online projects are the platform websites (specific printing applications areas) and innovative workshop websites (connected to the workshop meetings).

All members with access to the member area can download here all the presentations of the GA. 

Quality Assurance project

The Quality Assurance project of Digital printing is still looking for workgroup members to be involved in order to develop a model for guiding and evaluating the quality of printing in relationship to media, inks, application… This should help define the printing quality in the throughout the supply chain of digital printing.

Pavilions of ESMA

DRUPA 2012
The DRUPA pavilion (418 sqm) is being finalized with 9 members and 2 non-members. There are still options to join the area within the pavilion or outside the pavilion via ESMA.

Glasstec 2012
A second edition of the ESMA pavilion will start its preparation. If there is any interest to join this number one show in glass in hall 12, it will be the perfect moment to show your interest as a member or non-member. During the GlassPrint event in November, Glasstec will give a short presentation and ESMA will inform about the pavilion approach.

FESPA 2013 (London, end of June)
We have the possibility for a DIGTAL pavilion in a digital printing hall and SCREEN pavilion in the screen hall. Many members showed interest to take the option of the pavilion of ESMA as ideal solution for London. Interested members (and non-members) can inform us about their participation.

VISCOM Germany (13-15 October 2011)

ESMA will continue to cooperate with VISCOM Germany. ESMA members have their advantages on this show in many ways such as extra discount and benefits.

VISCOM is launching a new item: “Individual Design” and “From Pixel to Product”, more information is available on www.viscom-messe.com.
