DTF Convention addresses the mega trend in textile printing

The DTF Convention focuses on the mega trend in textile printingThe DTF Convention focuses on the mega trend in textile printing

DTF is the mega trend in textile printing – the DTF Convention on the 22nd of September 2022in Kaiserslautern is the answer to this trend! The theme day hosted by Fruit of the Loom and Russell Europe offers information and networking. In addition, DTF solution providers will show their products, premieres and technology updates.

The DTF technology promises the quick, inexpensive and easy production of transfers. Direct to Foil (short: DTF) no longer requires weeding, but multicolored, even photo-realistic prints can be realised on foil. The transfers can be easily pressed onto textiles.

Easy! Easy? As quickly as the systems appeared on the market for textile printing, the questions followed just as quickly: are the systems on the market already reliable? When is it worth investing in a DTF system? How does the glue application work? What about washing, light and rubbing fastness? Do I need special colour management? Can I print on cotton and polyester equally? Are there differences between light and dark textiles? Does DTF replace screen printing or DTG? Are flock and flex a thing of the past?

The Akademie für Textilveredlung (Aka-Tex), as the organizer of the DTF Convention, wants to focus on the young technology and provide answers to the many questions about DTF.

Exhibition shows innovative DTF solutions

Well-known suppliers of DTF printing machines will show their solutions at the event. Exhibitors include the companies Borchert + Moller, ColorMatch PrePress & IT Solutions, Forever, Kroschewski Industrie Technik (KIT), Lynx Germany, Mutoh, Print Equipment, Ricoh, Walter Schulze and X-tec Systems GmbH. Printing, powder and fixing machines, dryers, foils and tools for DTF printing can be seen.

Expertise live on stage

As part of a lecture program, visitors to the DTF Convention will receive a great deal of information. Bernard Hofer (Print Equipment) will give a presentation on the application of glue or powder and the particular challenges of cotton versus polyester. "The variety of foils for different DTF applications" is the topic of Vitali Fenzel from the exhibitor Forever. Philipp Klinger (Lynx Germany) offers cost calculations to explain who should invest in DTF. Ronny Windisch's (Walter Schulze) topic is "Realise DTF with a DTG printer – how does it work and is it economical?". Axel Stuhlreiter and Thomas Heuer (both Ricoh Europe) talk about colour management and data processing, Dennis Weißenberg (ColorMatch PrePress & IT Solutions) compares the DTG and DTF processes in his presentation. "Correct operation and maintenance of the DTF system" is the subject of Claus Teller (Borchert + Moller). The exhibitor Kroschewski Industrie Technik (KIT) highlights the aspects of colour management and colour separation in the DTF process. Dario Rampinelli from the Italian manufacturer Sertec shows the DTF solution approach of the RGF partner Sertec.

The two textile brands Fruit of the Loom and Russell Europe have already hosted seminars at Aka-Tex. Once again, the team from both brands wants to use the day to present the current textile collections and the central warehouse at the Kaiserslautern location. The textile brands also invite all guests to a barbecue. The trade journal TVP supports the DTF Convention as a media partner.

Open House at Falk&Ross on September 22, 2022

The textile wholesaler Falk&Ross creates synergies together with the DTF Convention and invites garment decorators to an open house in the central warehouse in nearby Sembach on the same day from 10 a.m. A shuttle service between Sembach and Kaiserslautern will be set up for guests. Falk&Ross lets the customers look behind the scenes and gives insights into the warehouse, the IT services, web services and catalog tools as well as the textile own brands. The entire sales team is also available for discussions in the showroom.
